Enjoying the Results
You’ve had the surgery, the pain is gone, and now you’re
ready to start enjoying your new body!
Enhancing your breast size can be psychologically and physically
beneficial. If your surgeon decided that you were an ideal candidate
for breast augmentation surgery (see the Home
page for details of ideal candidacy), then you will naturally exude
the confidence that you were seeking through your new body.
If
a woman undergoes a breast enhancement for the right reasons (i.e.
she is looking for improvement - not perfection, and is realistic
in her goals), she will benefit from the results.
Whether she is having the surgery done to enhance her body contour,
or to balance a difference in breast size, a breast augmentation
will give her confidence in her femininity.
In fact, a recent study shows that 97% of breast implant recipients
are happy with the results of their breast augmentation surgery.
(As per the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, 2001)
After their surgery is complete, women begin to notice that:
- their body proportions are better balanced
- clothing fits better
- they have an increase in self-confidence and self-esteem
How long do breast implants last?
Well, it is important to know that studies show that the average
life span of a breast implant is about 16 years. Furthermore,
the risk of implant rupture increases with time as well. It is most
likely that you will have to replace your implants after 10 to 15
years.
Many studies prove that the thin envelope or “sac”
encasing the silicone gel deteriorate with time. After about
10 years, about half of all silicone gel implants begin to break
apart and leak. So, if you’re not prepared to provide
the upkeep on the implants, then it is not recommended that you
get them.
