Techniques for placement: Because the implants are filled before they are placed, an inframammary incision is necessary, which means placement options are limited. The incision will be longer and scarring will be more noticeable.

Advantages: Uses a cohesive gel that creates a natural feel and look for the breast. They are reported to be longer lasting and more durable, reducing risk for rupture. These are FDA-approved breast implants.

Risks/disadvantages: Teardrop-shaped breast implants can shift after surgery, requiring repositioning by the surgeon. All breast implants require replacement at some point.
